Our story, our mission, our impact

Our unique journey and unwavering commitment
Elkhuwei Charitable Association for Community Development was founded from a simple belief: communities are strongest when people support one another across cultures, generations, and borders. The Association was established by community leaders, volunteers, and professionals who witnessed the challenges faced by migrants, refugees, disadvantaged families, people with disabilities, and communities affected by poverty, conflict, and displacement. Many of our founders have lived experience of migration, community rebuilding, and humanitarian challenges, giving us a deep understanding of the needs of vulnerable communities both in Australia and overseas. What began as a community-driven effort to support social inclusion, education, and community wellbeing has grown into a charity committed to creating sustainable opportunities and long-term positive change. Today, Elkhuwei works across Australia and internationally, particularly in Sudan, supporting initiatives such as education and clean water

Creating lasting change: our impact and future vision

Overseas, particularly in Sudan and other developing communities, we aim to increase access to clean water through water tanks, boreholes, wells, and community water systems; improve access to education for children.
